First Innings Summary :
Rajasthan Royal winning the toss and deciding to field, started well according to the plan with the ball. De Kock & Stoinis were dismissed very cheaply in the first two overs of the innings. LSG were pushed into the backfoot by RR bowlers. LSG needed a strong partnership which their captain KL Rahul & Deepak Hooda delivered. They both added a 115-run stand. Rahul scored 76 off 48 and Hooda scored 50 off 31 balls. Small cameos from Ayush Badoni 18(13) & Krunal Pandya 15(11) took LSG’s score to 196-5. Once again Sandeep Sharma was the standout performer with the ball as he took 2 wickets conceding 31 runs in 4 overs. Boult, Avesh & Ashwin got 1 wicket each.
Second Innings Summary :
Rajasthan had a target of 197 runs to chase in 20 overs. They needed a good start which their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal & Jos Buttler provided. Both of them had a partnership of 60 runs in the power play. But both set batsmen got out in 2 consecutive overs which bought LSG back in the game. Buttler scored 34(18) & Jaiswal made 24(18). But Sanju Samson & Dhruv Jurel ended the match with their match-winning partnership of 121 runs. Sanju Samson scored 71 runs off just 33 balls & Dhruv Jurel scored 52 runs off 34 balls. Yash Thakur, Marcus Stoinis & Amit Mishra got 1 wicket each. Rajasthan Royals won the match by 7 wickets. With this win, RR remains at the top of the points table & also almost confirms their qualification for the playoffs.
Sanju Samson was named Player of the Match for his match-winning 71(33).
