Toss: Delhi Capitals won the toss & decided to field. 

First Innings Summary :

Delhi chose to bat first winning the toss, but didn’t get the start they wanted. After hitting the first over for 15 runs, DC failed to convert on that. KKR bowlers were spot-on with their bowling. DC scored 67 runs in power play but lost 3 wickets. The top order failed to score runs for DC. Rishabh Pant scored 27 runs off 20 balls, but no other batsman was able to play an impactful innings. Low-order batter Kuldeep Yadav was the highest run-getter for DC. He scored 35 off 26 balls. With that, DC reached a total of 153 losing 9 wickets. Varun Chakaravarthy took 3 wickets. Harshit & Vaibhav got 2 each. Narine & Starc picked up 1 wicket each. 

Second Innings Summary :

KKR needed 154 runs to chase in 20 overs. Both openers gave KKR a perfect start for the chase. Salt was magnificent on the day. He scored 68 runs off just 33 balls. KKR scored 79 runs in a power play without losing any wickets. After the power play ended, DC took 3 back-to-back wickets, which bought them back into the game. But both Iyer from KKR made sure they didn’t loose any wickets further in the match. Both played till the end to ensure KKR won the match with 21 balls to spare. Shreyas scored 33(23) & Venkatesh scored 26(23). Axar Patel picked 2 wickets & Lizaad Williams picked 1. With the win, Kolkata Knight Riders hold their 2nd spot in the points table. 

Varun Chakaravarthy was named Player of the Match for his  3-16(4).

IPL Match No. 48- Lucknow Super Giants vs Mumbai Indians, 30 April 2024 (Tuesday), Time – 7:30 PM

On match number 48 of Tata IPL 2024, Lucknow Super Giants will take on Mumbai Indians at  Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. Both the teams have lost their respective previous match. LSG is still in a better position to qualify for the playoffs, but for Mumbai Indians, matches from here are must-win if they want to qualify as MI have won only 3 matches from 9 matches they have played.
