Toss:  Mumbai Indians won the toss & decided to Bowl. 

First Innings Summary :

Mumbai Indians asked Lucknow Super Giants to bat after winning the toss. LSG suffered a huge blow in the first over as Devdutt Padikkal was dismissed. Stoinis & KL Rahul were looking good in their partnership of 48 runs, but Stoinis was dismissed for 28(22) in the last ball of the power play. LSG scored 49 runs in the power play losing 2 wickets. LSG lost their 3rd wicket in the 10th over as Deepak Hooda was dismissed. KL Rahul & Nicholas Pooran made a good partnership of 109 runs where Pooran played an explosive innings of 75(29) runs. KL Rahul scored 55 off 41 balls. Ayush Badoni played a small cameo of 22 runs off just 10 balls. LSG posted a total of 214 runs losing 6 wickets. For MI, Nuwan Thushara & Piyush Chawla picked 3 wickets each. 

Second Innings Summary :

Mumbai Indians had a target of 215 runs in front of them. Mumbai got to a good start with Rohit Sharma & Dewald Brevis opening for them. MI scored 53 runs in the power play without losing any wickets. Both openers made a partnership of 88 runs. But soon MI was in trouble. From 88-1, they were soon down to 5 men for just 120 runs. Rohit Sharma made 68 off 38. Bravis scored 23 off 20. MI middle order fell like cards. After Mumbai was 5 down, Naman Dhir was the lone fighter till the end. But for lack of support he couldn’t win the match for his team. Naman Dhir played a brilliant 62 runs knock off just 28 balls and remained not out. LSG won the match by 18 runs. Naveen-ul-Haq & Ravi Bishnoi picked 2 wickets each for LSG. Mohsin Khan & Krunal Pandya got 1 wicket each. 

Nicholas Pooran was named Player of the Match for his 75(29).

On match number 68 of Tata IPL 2024, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will take on Chennai Super Kings at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The southern derby of the IPL is going to be a knockout match for these two teams. For Chennai Super Kings, a win will take them through to the playoffs. But for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, they will need to win by 18 runs if they bat first or they will need to chase down a 180+ score under 18 overs to better their NRR than CSK. If RCB manages to do so, they will qualify for the playoffs as the 4th team.
