First Innings Summary :
Rajasthan Royals won the toss and invited Sunrisers Hyderabad to bat first. SRH got a big blow in the very first over as Abhishek Sharma departed. Rahul Tripathi came in as the 3rd batsman and was looking very dangerous. Scored 37 runs off just 15 balls before getting out. SRH scored 68 runs in the power play but lost 3 important wickets. Travis Head was a bit slow today. He scored 34 runs off 28 balls. Rajasthan kept on taking wickets at regular intervals. SRH was unable to make a big partnership in the middle overs. Henrich Klassen kept fighting as a lone fighter for SRH. But got out in the 19th over scoring 50 off 33 balls. Shahbaz Ahmed came in as an impact player and scored 18 runs off 18 balls. SRH put a score of 175 on the board losing 9 wickets. For RR, Trent Boult & Avesh Lhan picked up 3 wickets each. Sandeep Sharma picked 2 wickets.
Second Innings Summary :
Rajasthan Royals had a target of 176 runs in front of them to chase down and reach the finals of TATA IPL 2024. Rajasthan Royals started a bit slow. SRH bowlers kept things tight. RR opener Cadmore was dismissed early for just 10 runs off 16 balls. Rajasthan scored 51 runs in the power play losing 1 wicket. But after the power play, Rajasthan Royals were outplayed by SRH spinners. In the middle over RR lost 5 wickets for just 51 runs. Dhruv Jurel was only standing there in the crease for RR. But it wasn’t enough to beat SRH. Jurel scored runs off balls. For SRH, Shahbaz Ahmed picked 3 wickets. Abhishek Sharma picked 2 wickets. Pat Cummins & T. Natarajan picked 1 wicket each. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the match by 36 runs and they will play the Final against KKR on 26 May, Sunday.
Shahbaz Ahmed was named Player of the Match for his 3-23(4) and 18(18).
