First Innings Summary: Rajasthan Royals didn’t get an ideal start as last match star Jos Buttler struggled to get runs. RR lost 2 important wickets of Jaiswal and Buttler in the power play. However, Riyan Parag again stood out with bat scoring 76 runs off just 48 balls. Captain Sanju Samson also played a fine and fiery innings, making 68 runs off just 38 deliveries, as Rajasthan Royals posted a competitive score of 196.
Second Innings Summary: Chasing 197 runs, Captain Subhman Gill and Sai Sudharsan gave a good start to their innings. Sudharsan was on 35 runs when he fell to Kuldeep Sen. Kuldeep was the pick of the bowlers in the match as he picked up 3 crucial wickets including Sai, Wade, and Abhinav Manohar. Subhman Gill, who was struggling to get back his form, played a good knock of 72 runs from 44 balls. The match was pretty much in the hands of Rajasthan Royals as GT needed 35 runs from the last 2 overs. But the heroics of Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia turned this match in Gujarat’s favor. Rashid’s quick-fire innings of 24 runs off just 11 balls brought victory for the visiting side.
Rashid Khan was named Man of the Match No.24 for his exceptional innings of 24 runs off 11 deliveries.
GT won their third match of the season as RR lost their first out of five.
