First Innings Summary :
Lucknow Super Giants winning the toss and opting to bat first, didn’t get the start they would have liked to. Despite their Captain KL Rahul getting a good start, LSG were down to 66-4. Khaleel Ahmed and Kuldeep Yadav bowled brilliant first spells. Kuldeep took 2 wickets in his first over. Thanks to LSG youngster Ayush Badoni’s 55 runs of 35 balls and Arshad Khan’s little cameo of 20 runs, which took LSG’s total to 167. Kuldeep Yadav was the standout performer with the ball taking 3 wickets, conceding just 20 runs in his 4 overs.
Second Innings Summary :
Having to chase 168 runs, DC looked comfortable throughout the chase. DC did lose wicket of Warner early, but that didn’t give them any trouble. Prithvi Shaw gave a good start to their innings, scoring 32 runs. Debutant Jake Fraser-McGruk got to his maiden IPL half-century. He scored 55 runs off 35 balls, hitting 5 sixes and 2 boundaries. Rishabh Pant scored a quick-fire 41 off just 24 deliveries. DC’s top order made sure they comfortably crossed the line. LSG’s best performer with the ball was Ravi Bishnoi, who took 2 wickets giving away just 25 runs.
As things stand, after winning the match comprehensively, DC stands in 9th position in the table with 4 points and Lucknow Super Giants are in 4th position with 6 points.
Man of the Match was Kuldeep Yadav for his brilliant spell 3-20(4).
