Venue: Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad
Toss: Delhi Capitals won the toss & decided to bowl first.
First Innings Summary :
Delhi Capitals won the toss & decided to bowl, dominating the host team Gujarat Titans from the very beginning of the innings. GT batsman never looked settled, rather DC bowlers never let them get settled. DC picked up the first wicket in 2nd over and then there was no looking back. DC bowled out Gujarat Titans for just 89. This was the lowest score for GT in their history of IPL. Rashid Khan scored the highest number of runs for GT 31(24). Mukesh Kumar was the pick of the bowler as he picked 3 wickets conceding just 14 runs. Ishant Sharma & Tristan Stubbs both picked up 2 wickets each. Khaleel and Axar got 1 wicket each.
Second Innings Summary :
Having to chase just 90 runs, there was never any pressure on DC batters. They started with a flyer with some big shots. They seemed to be in a hurry to finish the match to improve their NRR. In this small chase, DC lost 4 wickets but chased down the total in just 8.5 overs, which improved their Net Run Rate. Jake scored 20(10), Hope 19(10) & Pant 16(11). Sandeep Warrier picked 2 wickets, and Spencer Johnson & Rashid Khan picked a wicket each. With the win DC moved to 6th position in the table.
Captain Rishab Pant was named Man of the Match as he took 2 catches, made 2 stumpings and scored 16 off 11 to finish the match.
