First Innings Summary :
Delhi Capitals were invited to bat first by Mumbai Indians. DC got a tremendous start with Jake Fraser McGruk & Abhishek Porel. Both scored 92 runs in the allotted 6 overs of power play. Both the openers added 114 runs for the 1st wicket. Jake scored 84 runs off only 27 balls before he was dismissed by Piyush Chawla. Abhishek Porel scored 36 off 27 balls. Shai Hope, dealing in sixes, smashed 41 off just 17. Rishabh Pant got the start but couldn’t convert, and was dismissed by Bumrah when he was at 29(19). Tristan Stubbs gave the finishing touch to the scorecard with his 48 off 25 deliveries. DC set a total of 257 losing 4 wickets. Luke Wood, Jasprit Bumrah, Piyush Chawla & Mohammad Nabi got 1 wicket each for Mumbai Indians.
Second Innings Summary :
Mumbai Indians had a target of 258 runs to chase. They needed an absolute all-guns blazing start, which they didn’t get from their top-order batsmen. Mumbai lost 3 wickets inside the power play scoring just 65 runs. The first one to fall was Rohit Sharma, who scored 8(8), then Ishan Kishan 20(14) & third one was Suryakumar Yadav 26(13). Hardik Pandya & Tilak Varma built a much-needed partnership of 71 runs, but Rasikh Salam player the spoilsport by dismissing Hardik for 46(24). Tilak Varma & Tim David kept the run chase on, but both of them were dismissed by Mukesh Kumar in the death overs, as Mumbai Indians fell short by just 10 runs. Tikal scored 63(32) & Tim David scored 37(17). Mukhesh Kumar & Rasikh Salam both picked up 3 wickets each. Khaleel Ahmed picked up 2 wickets. Delhi Capitals won by 10 runs.
Jake Fraser McGruk was named Player of the Match for his 84 (27).
