First Innings Summary :
Visiting team Rajasthan Royals winning the the toss asked Delhi Capitals to bat first. DC were off to a flyer with their opener firing all guns blazing since the first over. Jake Fraser-McGruk scored a quick 50 in this match playing just 20 balls. DC scored 78 runs in the power play losing 2 wickets. Axar Patel was again promoted up the order, but couldn’t grab the opportunity as he got out scoring 15 runs off 10 deliveries. Abhishek Porel played a wonderful innings of 65 runs off just 36 balls. After Abhishek Porel got out, DC’s run rate went down a bit as middle order Batmen weren’t able to score big & quick. Rishabh Pant got out scoring 15 runs off 10 balls.
Tristan Stubbs & Gulbadin Naib built a small partnership of 45 runs towards the end of the innings. Gulbadin got out scoring 19 off 15 balls. Tristan Stubbs played a breezy knoch scoring 41 runs off just 20 balls which helped them reach 221 runs losing 8 wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin was the standout bowler for Rajasthan Royals as he picked up 3 wickets conceding just 24 runs in his 4 overs. Boult, Sandeep & Chahal picked 1 wicket each.
Second Innings Summary :
Rajasthan Royals had a mammoth target of 222 runs to chase. Rajasthan didn’t get the start they wanted. Jaiswal got out in the 2nd ball of the first over. Buttler too struggled to get runs. Sanju Samson kept the scoreboard running. Buttler got out scoring 19 runs in 17 balls. Rajasthan Royals scored 57 runs losing 2 wickets in the power play. Riyan Parag also got out when he was looking set. He scored 27 off 22 balls. Sanju kept on hitting at one end and kept the scoreboard running. Shubham Dubey had a good partnership of 59 runs with Sanju Samson. Sanju got out after scoring 86 runs off just 46 balls.
Shubham scored 25 off 12 balls. Sanju played a captain’s knock but he needed someone else to support him with a good innings, unfortunately, no other batsman were able to play a good knock to win the match for them. Rajasthan needed 29 runs in the last over, which was easily defended by DC. Delhi won the match by 20 runs. Khaleel, Mukesh & Kuldeep Yadav picked 2 wickets each. Axar & Rasikh Dar picked 1 wicket respectively.
Kuldeep Yadav was named Player of the Match for his 2-25(4).
