RCB's triumph over Gujarat Titans keeps their playoff dreams alive in the IPL

Toss: Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss & decided to field. 

First Innings Summary :

Gujarat Titans, batting first, again didn’t have an ideal start. Both the openers disappointed their fans again. Wriddhimam Saha was dismissed in the very first over by Swapnil Singh for 5(4). Subhmam Gill, who is looking out of form, was dismissed in the 6th over by Maxwell for 16(19). Gujarat scored just 45 runs in the first 6, losing both their openers. Sai Sudharsan & Shahrukh Khan gave their team a much-needed boost with their partnership of 86 runs. Both scored their half-centuries. Shahrukh scored 58 off 30 before he was dismissed by Siraj. David Miller played a small cameo of 26 runs off 19 balls. Sudharsan remained not out on 84(49). Siraj, Maxwell & Swapnil Sing picked 1 wicket each. Gujarat Titans reached a total of 200-3.

Second Innings Summary :

Royal Challengers Bengaluru needed 201 runs to win. Faf & Virat got a good start, scoring quick runs for the team. Faf was looking dangerous, already making 24 off just 12, when Sai Kishore picked him up. RCB, losing just 1 wicket of Faf, scored 63 runs in the power play. From there on, Kohli & Will Jacks took the game away from GT. Both Virat Kohli & Will Jacks remained not out. Kohli scored 70* off 44 balls & Will Jacks scored his maiden IPL ton 100*(40). RCB chased down the total in just 16 overs. With the win, RCB kept their hope still alive for the playoffs, but there are more calculations to do. 

Will Jacks was named Player of the Match for his 100* (40).

IPL Match No. 47- Kolkata Knight Riders vs Delhi Capitals, 29 April 2024 (Monday), Time – 7:30 PM

On match number 47 of Tata IPL 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Delhi Capitals at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. This is KKR’s 5th match in a row at Eden Gardens and after this, they will play some away matches back to back. KKR losing their last match to Punjab Kings after scoring 261 runs, might force their management to think something outside the box. They will want to win this match in front of home fans before they move to other cities. On the other hand, DC will be coming off with a big win in their last match, which will boost their confidence. The last time these two faced, KKR dominated DC at their home.
