First Innings Summary :
Opting to bat first, Punjab Kings got to a good start. Prabhsimran & Sam Curran got a 52-run opening stand before Prabhsimran was dismissed by Rashid Khan. Punjab Kings scored 56 runs in power play losing just 1 wicket. But in the middle overs, Gujarat Titans bowlers roared back, picking wickets in regular intervals. Except for Prabhsimran’s 35 runs, no other top-order batsman was able to leave an impact. Sam Curran scored 20 runs off 19 balls. With the help of Harpreet Brar’s small cameo 29(12), Punjab Kings reached a score of 142. Gujarat bowlers dominated the first innings as they bowled out PBKS. Ravi Sai Kishore picked 4 wickets. Noor Ahmed & Mohit Sharma picked 2 wickets each. Rashid Khan got 1 wicket.
Second Innings Summary :
Chasing 143 runs, the Gujarat Titans started slow and steady but lost Wriddhiman Saha early. GT scored 44 runs in power play losing the only wicket of Saha. Shubhman Gill was looking set & in touch, but got out on 35(29). The Punjab Kings kept taking wickets in regular intervals and didn’t let GT build a big partnership. Impact player Sai Sudharsan also couldn’t make his innings big as he got out on 31 runs. Both the teams were in a position to win the match, but the 18th over from Rabada turned the match towards Gujarat Titans as GT scored 20 runs in this over. Rahul Tewatia’s heroics with the bat, ensured the win for GT, as he scored unbeaten 36 runs off just 18 balls. For PBKS, Harshal Patel took 3 wickets, Livingston took 2. Arshdeep & Sam Curran got 1 wicket each.
Ravi Sai Kishore was named Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling spell 4-33 (4).
