First Innings Summary :
Chennai Super Kings got a good start with the bat. Both Ajinkya Rahane & Ruturaj Gaikwad looked solid. Without losing any wickets CSK scored 55 runs in the power play. In the 9th over, Harpreet Brar picked 2 wickets of Rahave and Shivam Dube, which brought PBKS back into the match. Ruturaj scored 62 runs off 48 balls. He was the highest scorer for CSK. Middle-order batsmen were not able to make an impact for CSK. Sameer Rizvi scored 21 off 23, Moeen scored 15 off 9, and Dhoni scored 14 off 11. CSK’s total was 162-7. Harpreet Brar & Rahul Chahar picked 2 wickets each. Rabada & Arshdeep picked 1 wicket each.
Second Innings Summary :
Punjab Kings had a target of 163 runs in front of them to chase down. Punjab lost their opener Prabhsimran early in the innings. He scored 13 off 10. Bairstow & Rossouw added a much-needed partnership for PBKS. Both managed to add 64 runs together. Bairstow scored 46 off 30 balls. Rossouw scored 43 off 23 balls. Both were well settled but weren’t able score big and finish the match. But their efforts were enough to give PBKS middle-order batsmen the platform to win the match. Shashank Singh & Sam Curran did the rest to ensure a win for Punjab Kings. Shashank scored 25(26), Curran made 26(20). Punjab won the match by 7 wickets & 13 balls to spare. Shardul, Richard Gleeson & Shivam Dube got 1 wicket each.
Harpreet Brat was named Player of the Match for his 2-17(4).
