Toss: Lucknow Super Giants won the toss & decided to field.
IPL Match Report No. 48 – First Innings Summary:
Mumbai Indians batting first, had a miserable start to the innings. LSG was superb with the ball. Winning the toss & electing to field, LSG didn’t give any chance to MI top order to settle down. Mumbai just scored 28 runs in the power play, losing 4 wickets. Nehal Wadhera & Ishan Kishan built a partnership of 53 runs, but couldn’t convert it into a big one. Kishan scored 32 runs but played 36 balls. Nehal Wadhera was their highest scorer as he scored 46 off 41 balls. Tim David’s powerful innings of 35 runs in 18 balls, took MI’s score to 144 runs. For LSG, Mohsin Khan picked up 2 wickets. Stoinis, Naveen, Mayank Yadav & Ravi Bishnoi picked 1 wicket each.
IPL Match Report No. 48 – Second Innings Summary:
Lucknow Super Giants needed just 145 runs to win the match. Mumbai started well with the ball, picking a wicket in the first over. Mumbai needed more wickets to stay in the match but that didn’t happen. KL Rahul & Stoinis made a good partnership. LSG made 52 runs in the power play, losing just 1 wicket of Ashin Kulkarni. KL Rahul scored 28 off 22 balls. Hooda & Stoinis also had a partnership of 40 runs, which made the match more easy for LSG. Stoinis played a very important innings as he scored 62 off 45 balls. Mumbai picked some quick wickets, not giving away many runs in the second half of the second innings, but it was too late for a comeback.
Pooran stayed in the crease to ensure he finished the match for LSG. LSG won the match by 4 wickets. Hardik picked 2 wickets. Thushara, Coetzee & Nabi picked 1 wicket each. With the win LSG inches closer to qualifying for the playoffs. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians are almost on the verge of being eliminated.
Marcus Stoinis was named Player of the IPL Match No. 48, for his 1-19(3) with the ball & 62(45) with the bat.

IPL Match No. 49- Chennai Super Kings vs Punjab Kings, 1 May 2024 (Wednesday), Time – 7:30 PM
On match number 49 of Tata IPL 2024, Chennai Super Kings will take on Punjab Kings at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Both teams have won their previous match. Punjab Kings made a record chase against KKR in their last match, as they chased 262 runs successfully. Chennai also won with a big margin against SRH. If Chennai can win this win a big margin again, they can climb up to 2nd position in the points table. And if Punjab Kings wins, they will go ahead of GT.
