First Innings Summary :
Kolkata Knight Riders batting first, were off to a flying start once again with Phil Salt & Sunil Narine. Both put up a partnership of 61 runs for the 1st wicket. KKR scored 70 runs in the power play losing 1 wicket of Phil Salt. Salt scored 32 off 14 balls. After Salt’s dismissal, power-hitting didn’t stop. Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi added another big partnership of 79 runs. Narine played a powerful innings of 81 runs off just 39 balls. Angkrish also scored an important 32 runs off 26 balls. Rinku made 16 off 11. Kl Rahul took a stunner as Shreyash Iyer got out scoring 23 off 15 balls. Ramandeep Singh scored a quick 25 runs off just 6 balls. KKR put 235 runs on the board losing 6 wickets. Naveen-ul-Haq picked 3 wickets for LSG. Yash Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi & Yudhvir Singh Charak picked 1 wicket each.
Second Innings Summary :
Lucknow Super Giants needed 236 runs to chase down to win the match. LSG had a decent start as they lost Asrin Kulkarni early into the innings. KL Rahul & Marcus Stoinis were playing a good partnership and added 50 runs, but Harshit Rana broke the important partnership in the 7th over. LSG lost back-to-back 3 wickets in 7th, 8th & 10th over. Stoinis was playing a good knock but got out to Russell on 36(21). After that, it was a totally 1 sided game. KKR bowled out LSG for 137 runs and won the match by a huge margin of 98 runs. Harshit Rana & Varun Chakaravarthy picked 3 wickets each. Russell got 2 wickets. Starc & Narine picked 1 wicket each. With this win, KKR confirm their qualifications for the playoffs.
Sunil Narine was named Player of the Match for his 81(39) with the bat and 1-22(4) with the ball.
