First Innings Summary :
Chennai Super Kings lost Rahane in the very first over of the match. Ruturaj & Darly Mitchell built a partnership of 45 runs, but in the last over of the power play, CSK lost Mitchell. At the end of the power play, CSK were 49-2. After Jadeja’s departure, Gaikwad & Shivam Dube made a massive partnership, which changed the game for CSK. Both made a 104-run partnership off just 47 balls. Ruturaj making his first ton of the season, scored 108*(60) & Shivam Dube made a fiery 66(27). With this impactful partnership, CSK reached a total of 210-4. Matt Henry, Mohsin Khan & Yash Tharuk got 1 wicket each for LSG.
Second Innings Summary :
Having to chase 211 runs, Lucknow lost their opening batsman de Kock for a duck. Then they lost captain KL Rahul also when the team score was just 33 runs. Lucknow Super Giants just scored 45 runs losing 2 wickets in the power play. Stoinis & Paddikal had a 55-run partnership, but the Paddikal was dismissed by Pathirana. Stoinis still kept fighting for the win & built another partnership, this time with Pooran. This partnership was of 70 runs from just 34 balls. Pooran was on 34(15) when Pathirana broke the another partnership. Stoinis made a brilliant century, scoring 124 runs & was not out till the end. Deepak Hooda played a crucial role in the victory, scoring 17 runs off just 6 deliveries. CSK couldn’t defend 17 runs off the last over, as Stoinis won the match for LSG almost singlehandedly by 6 wickets. For CSK, Pathirana picked up 2 wickets, Mustafizur 1 & Deepak Chahar 1 wicket. With the win, Lucknow Super Giants takes the 4th position on the table.
Marcus Stoinis was named Man of the Match for his magnificent match-winning innings off 124(63).
