First Innings Summary :
Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and decided to bat first, but couldn’t capitalize on it. LSG lost 2 early wickets as Bhuvaneshwar Kumar picked both De Kock & Stoinis in his first spell. LSG scored just 27 runs in the power play losing 2 wickets. KL Rahul & Krunal Pandya built a partnership of 36 runs, but couldn’t make it big. Rahul took 33 balls to score 29 runs & Krunal scored 24 runs off 21 balls. After LSG were 4 wickets down, Nicholas Pooran & Ayush Badoni built a strong partnership of 99 runs which took LSG’s score to 165-4. Both Pooran & Badoni remained not out, where Pooran scored 48 off 26 balls & Badoni scored 55 off 30 balls. For SRH, Bhuvi picked 2 wickets & Pat Cummins picked 1.

SRH had a decent target of 166 runs to chase in 20 overs. SRH batters came out all guns blazing to chase down this target. They seemed like batting on a different pitch altogether. Travis Head & Abhishek Sharma was an absolute treat to watch. They both smashed Lucknow Super Giants bowler. Just the first over was of 7 runs, but after that, LSG was blown away. They didn’t even got a small chance to stop both the openers. Both Travis Head & Abhishek Sharma ended the match in just 9.4 over. They took just 58 balls to chase down 166 runs. Abhishek Sharma scored 75 runs off just 28 balls. Travis Head scored 89 runs off just 30 balls. SRH won the match by 10 wickets and with 62 balls to go. With this huge win, SRH’s run rate has taken a huge hike, and also they are now 1 win away from qualification for the playoffs. Whereas LSG now needs to win both their remaining matches to be in the race.
