Toss: Mumbai Indians won the toss & elected to bat. 

First Innings Summary :

Mumbai Indians opting to bat first, didn’t have an ideal start. Mumbai lost their 3 top-order batsmen in just 20 runs. In the power play, they could only score 45 runs losing 3 wickets. After losing the 4th wicket in the form of Nabi, Tilak Varma & Nehal Wadhera took charge of the innings. Both put up a partnership of 99 runs which helped MI reach a 179 score. Tilak scored 65 off 45 balls and Nehal boosted the innings with his power pack 49 runs off 24 deliveries. Sandeep Sharma, playing first match of the season, picked up 5 wickets conceding only 18 runs in his 4 overs. Boult picked up 2 wickets. Avesh & Chahal got 1 wicket each. 

Second Innings Summary :

Chasing 180 runs, Rajasthan Royal got to a flying start with both openers Jaiswal and Buttler. Without losing a wicket, Rajasthan scored 61 runs in the power play. Piyush Chawla picked up Jos Buttler in the 8th over of the match. Butter scored 35 off 25 balls. But Mumbai was not able to make a comeback in the game as Jaiswal & Samson both finished the match from there on. Jaiswal scored his first century of the season 104(60). Sanju Samson scored 38 off 28 balls. Jaiswal & Samson’s 109-run stand saw them through the finishing line. Rajasthan won the match with 8 balls left. With the win, RR secured their place at the top of the table, and for Mumbai Indians, from here on it will be hard to qualify. 

Sandeep Sharma was named Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling spell 5-18 (4).
