IPL Match Report: Match No. 41 – RCB Makes a Comeback

Captain's knock! Virat Kohli led the charge for RCB with a crucial half-century against SRH.

Venue: Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad

Toss: Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss & decided to bat. 

First Innings Summary :

RCB was off to a flyer in the power-play overs. Losing just 1 wicket, RCB scored 61 runs. The only wicket that fell, was of Faf du Plessis, who scored 25 off 12. Kohli & Patidar had a good partnership of 65 runs. Rajat Patidar made a quick 50 runs off just 20 balls. Kohli also made 51 runs off 43 balls before Jaydev Unadkat picked his wicket. Cameron Green scored an unbeaten 37 off 20 balls. At the end of 20 overs, RCB set a target of 207 for SRH to chase. 

Second Innings Summary :

SRH needed to chase down 207 runs. RCB started brilliantly with the ball. Will Jacks removed inform Travis Head in the very first over of the match  Abhishek Sharma did start the innings positively, scored 31 runs off 13 balls. But after his wicket fell, SRH was pushed into the backfoot. No other batsman was able to make an impact in the chase. SRH were 62-4 after the end of power play. In middle overs also RCB picked wickets regularly. Didn’t give any chance to the SRH batsmen to settle down & build a partnership. Cummins & Shahbaz Ahmed tried to take the gap closer. Cummins scored 31 off 15 balls. Shabbaz made 40 off 37 balls. Swapnil Singh, Karan Sharma & Cameron Green Got 2 wickets each. RCB won the match by 35 runs. 

Rajat Patidar was named Man of the Match for his 50 (20).
