First Innings Summary :
Rajasthan Royals decided to bat first after winning the toss. RR were playing in their new home stadium in Guwahati. In the very first over RR loat Yashasvi Jaiswal. Rajasthan scored just 38 runs in the power play losing 1 wicket. Samson & Kohler-Cadmore built a partnership but couldn’t capitalize on it. Cadmore scored 18 off 23 before he was dismissed. Sanju Samson also scored 1i but off 15 balls. Riyan Parag & Ravi Ashwin built a 50-run partnership. Ashwin scored 28 off 19 balls. Riyan Parag scored 48 off 34. Other middle-order batsmen failed to make an impact. RR posted a total of 144 losing 9 wickets. Sam Curran, Harshal Patel & Rahul Chahar picked 2 wickets each. Arshdeep & Nathan Ellis picked 1 wicket each.
Second Innings Summary :
Punjab Kings got a target of 145 runs to chase down in 20 overs. PBKS lost Prabhsimran Singh in the first over. Bairstow & Rossouw were looking to build a partnership but that didn’t happen Avesh Khan dismissed Rossouw in the 5th over and also picked in form Shashank Singh in the same over. PBKS scored 39 runs in power play losing 3 wickets. PBSK were 4 wickets down at 48 runs on the board. But after that, Sam Curran & Jitesh Sharma built a good partnership of 63 runs which turned the game towards Punjab Kings. Jitesh Sharma scored 22 off 20 balls. Sam Curran played a captain innings scoring 63 not out off 41 balls. Towards the end, Ashutosh Sharma scored 17 off 11 balls to win the match for Punjab Kings. For RR, Avesh Khan & Yuzi Chahal picked 2 wickets each. Trent Boult picked 1 wicket. Punjab Kings won the match by 5 wickets.
Sam Curran was named Player of the Match for his 63*(41) with the bat & 2-24(3) with the ball.
